This breakout role-playing game from Sandfall Interactive earned the prestigious Top Game award, along with honors for Outstanding Narrative and Top Visual Design. Complementing the studio's achievements, its gifted performers also received individual awards. Jennifer English was named Top Lead Actor for her role as Maelle, while Ben Starr earned Supporting Performance Award for his role as Verso. Furthermore, Sandfall Interactive itself was honored as Studio of the Year. Overall, Clair Obscur and its makers won seven awards throughout the ceremony. Additional major winners featured Ghost of Yōtei, which won Best Audio Design and Console Game of the Year, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, receiving Best Indie Game (Self-Published) and Best PC Game. Notably, the lion's share of Golden Joystick Awards are selected by the gamers, with only 4 awards—Critics’ Choice, Rising Star, Lifetime Achievement, and Streamers' Favorite—determined by experts.
