Jurgen Klopp admits a return to coach Liverpool is plausible in theory.

The German coach, who departed from Liverpool in 2024, indicated that rejoining the club is something that could happen. Klopp, post a game-changing nine-year spell featuring continental glory and the Reds’ first league title since 1990, currently occupies positions in a global football capacity within the Red Bull organization and as an advisor with the German Football League.

Supporters’ Hopes and Klopp’s Candid Remarks

They secured England's top flight last season, but many fans who revere Klopp would embrace the possibility of his potential comeback. Speaking candidly, he explained to Steven Bartlett: “I stated I won't manage a different club in England. So that means should it be the Reds...yeah. In theory, it could happen.”

“At 58 years old, which suggests I might decide in a few years, who knows. Is a decision required immediately? In that case, I'd stay away. Fortunately, no such pressure exists. I can just see how things unfold.”

Conditions for a Comeback

When asked about what circumstances would need to occur to draw him back to the touchline, he confessed he feels no immediate pull toward coming back. “It's unclear to me, I love what I do right now,” he commented. “No longing for management; No desire to be during downpours through long matches; No need for press conferences repeatedly each week or constant media duties a week.

“I don’t miss the dressing room as a dressing room, yet sharing a meal with the players talking freely, I appreciate that. Success was frequent thus frequently great spirits around the place. I can still hear Van Dijk's laughter vividly recalled for example.”

Commending Arne Slot

He commended for his successor, acknowledging his role due to the changes which secured the championship in the previous season. The team has suffered four in a row across various tournaments following significant transfers, but he rubbished the notion of it representing a decline.

“[Liverpool have] an incredible striker in Flo[rian] Wirtz, doubters will be silenced if you use the wrong words. An outstanding player. [Hugo] Ekitike, superb talent. They have a strong well-judged squad. You don’t have to worry over the club, they will be fine.”

Emotional Tribute for Diogo Jota

He shared movingly regarding the passing of the Portuguese star, whom he brought in during his tenure, and the effect at the club. Jota lost his life in a car crash alongside his brother this past summer.

“How do you replace somebody like Diogo? It goes beyond his on-field talent, it’s the guy he was. I can’t imagine the team environment absent his presence. I find it difficult to discuss on this topic. It was an incredible shock for all the boys also. No one within the club will ever use it as an excuse yet it's the reality. Being in that space where his spirit remains. Dealing with that emotionally is not easy. Impossible.”
